SUPPORTING OUR YOUNGEST LEARNERS
Available in English and Spanish, our Preschool Program offers an early introduction to the Developmental Assets framework for parents, caregivers, teachers, and students.
PROGRAM FEATURES
Our program includes monthly readings of early childhood literature designed to develop a set of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills and attitudes that foster a strong desire to learn. Caring adults-teachers, parents, and caregivers-play a vital role in building preschoolers' social, emotional, and cognitive skills through reading, discussions, and interactive activities.
PROGRAM GOALS
- Engage Parents/Caregivers: Encourage early involvement in a child's education to establish healthy lifelong learning habits.
- Introduce Developmental Asset Framework: Familiarize all participants with Search Institute's Developmental Assets Framework.
- Foster SEL Skills: Promote the development of SEL skills such as self-management, self-awareness, responsible decision-making, social awareness, and relationship skills.
- Increase Adult Interaction: Expand the number of caring adults in preschoolers' lives to enhance their sense of support and value.
- Create a Positive School Climate: Develop a caring, inclusive school environment where all preschoolers feel they belong and are safe.
- Promote Early Literacy: Enhance early literacy skills to young children’s lives, contributing to future academic success.
