Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Y. Essential in fulfilling our promise to strengthen community, Y volunteers help us innovate to provide relevant responses to the communities’ ever changing needs. They strengthen our leadership by serving on our boards. They build our capacity to serve by leading our annual and capital campaigns. They transform lives by serving as leaders in Y facilities and out in the community.
Each year our YMCAs recognize a select few for their outstanding contributions of time and talent to improve the lives of our youth, adults, families.
Northwest YMCA is honored to recognize Dave Heller for his dedication and service to our community. We are a stronger YMCA thanks to your efforts!
Dave Heller - 2022 Distinguished Service Award
A good question can lead to great impact… and Dave Heller asks good questions. Over the course of nine years, with his inquisitive nature and solution-forward approach, he has continued to deepen his partnership with the Y and expand its ability to serve the community. As a Board Member, he guides the Board and through words and actions motivates other members to deepen their connections to the community. When he saw that the annual campaign needed more support, he swiftly led by example and personally increased his donation to inspire others. Dave is integral to the fabric of Northwest YMCA, from board leadership to day-to-day operations. Most recently, he helped lead the West Valley Community Service Project. He is most motivated by bringing access and opportunity to young people to provide the quality education they deserve. He cares deeply about the impact the Y makes and the legacy we are building together in the community.
