YMCA of Silicon Valley welcomes six incredible leaders as new board members. These change-makers come to the Y with a passion for strengthening community, empowering youth and improving the well-being and equity in our community, They will add strategic and diverse perspectives to help the Y continue to take effective actions and realize positive impact throughout Silicon Valley.
Newton Cheng
Currently Google’s global Health and Performance Lead, Newton has spent his 12-year career at Google developing, launching, and scaling global programs aimed at helping Googlers to thrive. His passion for improving the community, health, and wellness, and youth development shine through in his personal and professional life.
Newton lives with his family in Sunnyvale, CA where they stay active with the Y. As a competitive powerlifter, Newton has set five U.S. and 18 California state records and is a world bronze medalist and two-time US national champion.
Lisa Cummins Dulchinos
After 25 years of experience as a growth-oriented financial executive in global high-tech organizations, most recently overseeing a successful sale of Penguin Computing. Lisa currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Ayar Labs. She currently serves on the board for Community Wellness, a start-up in the Remote Patient Monitoring Field for cardiology patients, and seeks to bring her commitment to health, wellness & mentoring to her role at the YMCA as well.
A certified public accountant, the Ernst & Young alumna holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master’s from St. Mary’s College. Lisa volunteered for the Y’s Project Cornerstone for each of her five children.
David Low
After 15 years of experience in the public and non-profit sectors, David currently serves as the Director of Public Policy & Communications with Destination: Home, a public-private partnership working to ending homelessness in Silicon Valley. David spent close to a decade working at San Jose City Hall, most recently serving as a senior advisor and communications director to Mayor Sam Liccardo following several years working with former Mayor Chuck Reed. His commitment to the Y began when he worked on the summer camp counselor with the Northwest Y. David later served as marketing and communications director for the YMCA of Silicon Valley.
Silicon Valley born and raised, David holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of California, Los Angeles. He now lives outside downtown San Jose, participating in Y programs with his family often.
Darian Harris
In his career as a healthcare professional, Darian has held a variety of operational and strategic healthcare administration roles in complex and industry-leading organizations. Today, Darian serves as Director of Pediatrics, OB/GYN, and Clinical Genetics at Kaiser Permanente, supporting The Permanente Medical Group. Darian is committed to advancing health and holistic wellness and supporting the development of community-based solutions to meet the needs of our most vulnerable populations.
Darian grew up on military bases throughout England and Germany. He holds an undergraduate degree from East Carolina University and a Master’s from the University of Washington in Seattle. His appreciation for the YMCA stems from his father, who considered the Y his “home away from home”.
Keeshia Moultrie
An experienced Human Resources professional and community advocate, Keeshia has a diverse background with expertise in corporate immigration, data privacy, talent mobility, and risk management. Currently Head of Risk & Governance, People Operations at Google, she leads a global HR team focused on building a culture of accountability, responsibility, and mutual respect. Committed to civic engagement and community building, Keeshia volunteers at nonprofits including the Chicago Historical Society and Planned Parenthood and serves as an ambassador for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of History and Culture.
Native to Chicago, Keeshia has lived and worked extensively across Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and a Master’s from Loyola University Chicago. Her passion for the Y began when her 14 nieces and nephews joined her at Central YMCA for activities, programs, and day camp. She is committed to helping local youth build confidence and flourish at the Y the way her own family has.
Gaurav Vijayvargiya
A 15-year technology veteran with expertise in product strategy, growth, and driving large and complex initiatives, Gaurav is driven by his passion to help others find success. Currently, Gaurav is the Senior Engineering Manager at LinkedIn, where he leads Small Business initiatives, increasing growth and retention for products including the Service Marketplace and LinkedIn Premium. Gaurav previously held various positions at Groupon and Yahoo! Inc.
Gaurav was born in India and moved to the US to pursue a Master's at UCSC. After graduation, he moved to Santa Clara with his wife who is a Pediatrician at Stanford Children's Health. Gaurav’s family has been involved in the Y’s Project Cornerstone.
