Thank you for your interest!

If you would like to volunteer at your school, please check with your school and/or district first regarding its volunteer guidelines.

Why Volunteer?

We know that children and teens need caring adults in their lives. Research has shown that the more positive relationships that young people have with adults both inside and outside their families, the more likely they are to thrive.

Project Cornerstone volunteers are trained to engage in their school communities in the following ways that help youth feel valued, respected, and known:

  • Intentionally build relationships with staff, students, and families to support the school.
  • Intentionally seek to empower youth by giving them a voice and choice in clubs and activities.
  • Partner with school staff to create safe and caring spaces for youth to be and belong; to learn about themselves and others; to connect; to explore and discover their interests.
How To Engage With Us

There are many ways in which you can volunteer and get involved. You can be the Project Cornerstone liaison at your school, or a reader for our ABC, Los Dichos, or Pre-K/TK programs. You can help run clubs or activities at your school, or be a parent volunteer for our Middle School SEL Curriculum. Some of our volunteers participate as Yard Duty supervisors, too. As you can see, there are so many ways you can be a positive role model for youth!
